The Aegadian Islands: Favignana

In this corner of the Mediterranean, an hour by ferry and half an hour by hydrofoil from Trapani, the Egadi archipelago is revealed in all its beauty. Through nature and silence, the islands reveal the culture of an ancient land of tuna fishermen through colours and scents. Here, surrounded by uncontaminated countryside, the resort holds the promise of a secluded and unforgettable holiday.

Favignana is the blue that lulls you. It is the scent of freshly baked brioche filled with pistachio cream, freshly caught sea urchins. It is a house with white lime plaster and blue window frames. It is a butterfly-shaped island from which to depart and return.

Some of the animals depicted were sacred to the goddess of fertility and it is believed that the cave was indeed a place of initiation rites and sacrifices.

Palermo, packed with stunning sites
